Greenlee County Animal Control

Greenlee County Animal Control is charged with the enforcement of state law and county ordinances regarding domestic animals with a focus on dogs and cats. There are two Animal Control Officers serving Greenlee County. The Town of Clifton has an Animal Control Officer responsible for that jurisdiction. The Town of Duncan contracts with Greenlee County for Animal Control responsibilities.

Licensing Information

All dogs at least three months of age are required to be vaccinated against rabies and to be licensed. Proof of rabies vaccination is required in order to obtain a license. Licenses are available at the Greenlee County Animal Control Office at 840 S. Coronado Boulevard, Clifton, Arizona, during normal business hours.

Cost of Licenses

Greenlee County

  • $5.00 for animals that have been spayed or neutered
  • $8.00 for non spayed or neutered animals

Town of Clifton

  • $5.00 for animals that have been spayed or neutered
  • $7.00 for non spayed or neutered animals

Town of Duncan (administered by Greenlee County)

  • $5.00 for animals that have been spayed or neutered
  • $7.00 for non spayed or neutered animals

County Seal Use

A.R.S. 11-251.17 Use of county seal restricted; cease and desist order; violation; classification

Sec A. A person may use, display or otherwise employ any facsimile, copy, likeness, imitation or other resemblance of the county seal only after obtaining the approval of the board of supervisors of that county. The board of supervisors may grant a certificate of approval of the application by any person showing good cause for the use of the county seal for a proper purpose. No person other than a county department may use the county seal for the purpose of advertising or promoting the sale of any article of merchandise within this state or for the promoting any other commercial purpose. The board of supervisors may adopt rules for the use of the county seal or any facsimile, copy, likeness, imitation or other resemblance of the county seal, including rules for the use of the county seal for official county business.
